Need to add RainMachine to app using IP address
My RainMachine Touch HD is on an IOT VLan. I need to be able to add it to the RainMachine app using its IP address, since the VLAN blocks broadcast messages to the main network. But that doesn't seem to be possible.

Step 1: Test whether your VLAN routing/firewall rules are set up correctly to allow communication from your private LAN to your IO VLAN. To test, from your computer (or phone) browser on your private LAN, try to access the rainmachine's IP. It will likely give you a "NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID" warning message - ignore it and proceed to the site. If your firewall rules are set up correctly, it should ask you for your password to the rainmachine and let you log in
Note: If you are unable to connect using the browser, your firewall rules are not set up correctly - go thru' your router manufacturer's forums/manuals/web-search to determine the right way to set up the rules.Step 2: If successful, on your app, use the Direct Access feature.
Open upper left side hamburger menu - Network Settings - Direct Access - Add Device.
Give it a name and the input your RainMachine local IP address followed by :8080 port.
Save it and return to DEVICES screen see if it is accessible. -
Test whether your VLAN routing/firewall rules are set up correctly
Yep, all good.
Open upper left side hamburger menu - Network Settings - Direct Access - Add Device.
Give it a name and the input your RainMachine local IP address followed by :8080 port.Bingo! That was what I was looking for. Thanks!
