Using RainMachine to help locate valve box

I think I have a bad valve or solenoid.  Problem is that I can't find the valve box as it's covered in mulch....  can I send a signal to the valves to try and "bang" them or make a sound that helps me locate the box?

  You can turn the valve on and off from the application, you may hear clicks underground...))

  Yes, thanks.  I have tried that, but was hoping I can have the valve go on and off multiple times, or "chatter" so I can more easily find the valve box.

  Same issue after we bought the house - no idea where they were in the lawns. I ended up using a metal detector to find them and guessing an approx. area where they may be based on zone layout and once found used a fork to probe and listen for it hitting the plastic lid.

  Thanks Ian - had success yesterday finding 2 or the 3 boxes..... used a wire tracer.  Similar to a metal detector although you can send a small signal thru the specific zone wire and trace it.....  worked well.
