Help with my first IF....Then.... and conditional programing
I have not used IF...THEN yet. I want to know if I can create a program to turn on certain zones if the temperature gets above a certain number, and stop the program if it is raining?
If so, where do I start?
Thanks

Hi, Dave
Thank you for your interest in how RainMachine and IFTTT services work together.
First and most important is to have a RainMachine remote access account validated.
Then create an ifttt.com account.
After that follow the steps described in this article one by one:
https://support.rainmachine.com/hc/en-us/articles/228652568-RainMachine-and-IFTTTAnd the answer to your question is YES.
As described in the article above you can create ifttt applets to run when the temperature gets above certain number:
- for "THIS" action choose a weather ifttt channel (let's say WUnderground channel) and make an applet with it by choosing the desired action, in your case: "If the temperature rises above certain number" and on "THAT" action choose RainMachine service - look for your RainMachine device and choose the zone/program you want to start when the weather temperature is reported by the weather service gets above the number you set.
- the same for the rain - when the weather ifttt channel you choose on "THIS" action reports rain in your RainMachine location area, then the RainMachine you set on "THAT" action will STOP all watering.
Hope this will help you start with it, Dave.
Thank you

I followed the instructions, not too hard! But, in the program I want to run in my HD-12, how do I tell it to run using the applet. I found an applet in the temp gets above, then turn on Program....
I only want the RainMachine Program to be triggered by the applet. Do I disable the program on my HD-12? I do not see anything within the HD-12 to trigger the program using the applet.
Thanks

Hi, Dave
At step 5 of 6 when you create the new applet you should see the list of your programs (click on the arrow to open the drop down list). You have to select the program from that list. If you do not see it in the list, then you should re-enable the connection with the RainMachine service.
Also, the program must be Enabled in order to show up on the list.
Thank you

Great to have the IFTTT integration. Also important to have the programs be responsive to temp data from external sources .For me (in a greenhouse) that means using local sensors. I proposed this topic to make RM use local temp data to respond/weather adaptation.
